DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Atomic Redster S9 Revoshock S with I 12 GW bindings is a slalom-inspired frontside weapon designed for quick, aggressive turns with a smooth, confident feel. With the same Revoshock S tech found in World Cup race skis, the S9 delivers explosive edge-to-edge energy and vibration-dampening stability, making it perfect for carving trenches on firm snow.

Why we like it:

Lightning-fast transitions and a silky ride make this one of the most fun frontside skis in the lineup.

Who it's for:

The S9 is ideal for advanced to expert skiers and ex-racers who love short turns, tight control, and rock-solid grip at speed. It’s great for skiers who carve aggressively and want high-end performance without going full FIS.

Highlights:

Revoshock S is the star of the show here, acting like a suspension system underfoot, absorbing vibration and turning it into rebound and acceleration between turns. Ultrawall sidewalls and a TI Powered laminate ensure exceptional grip and stability, while the Power Woodcore provides the stiffness and response needed to power through tight arcs. At 68 mm underfoot with a tight slalom-style radius, this ski is built for precision and quickness on firm snow.

Things to consider:

This ski wants to turn. If you prefer big GS arcs or a more relaxed, cruising pace, the S9 will feel overly active. It’s also happiest on groomed snow and doesn’t love variable or off-trail conditions.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The S9 skis true to size. Go with your usual length for quick, snappy turns; sizing down slightly is common for those looking to maximize maneuverability.

Location, Terrain, Snow Conditions Notes
Mostly groomed runs with some areas with total ice from recent rain and freeze. Carved exceptionally well through adverse snow quality despite being groomed. A powerful ski and tuned with a nice bevel.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
A bit short. It works according to the size and has a powerful punch in regards to how it pops into each turn. Optimal for shorter, almost slalom like turns, a real coaches ski. I would go with something longer as I like having a bigger race ski.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
An incredibly powerful ski that reminded me of why I raced in the first place. Atomics have always been a great race ski and the stability throughout the turn and into the opposite foot is a strong indication of that. Despite being slightly bumpy in areas of the hill, the ski was able to carve right through it.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
Ice and groomers. This is a race ski and wants to go FAST, keeping it on steep or bump terrain would show the weakness of the ski but it should never be used in those cases. This ski carves and knows how to do it well.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
It would be appropriate for an intermediate to advanced skier with race experience. I see younger kids using it as their first super G ski. I used a similar ski when I was 13 beginning in that world although the radius would still be a bit small. Great ski for younger racers.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
This ski punched right through the ice on that hill like a drunk stepdad. Absolute unit of a ski and a powerful ski for the terrain the beast coast provides.
