What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

The Maven 88 CTi felt responsive and easy to turn but I do not love the tip chatter of the Atomic tips. The light weight tip design makes it easy to turn but does make the tips bounce a bit when powering through the turn.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

I think the Maven 88 CTi is made for on resort trails mainly with the occasional woods run. The tip weight would make it fun for quick turns in the woods.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

High intermediate to advanced skier, the CTi construction is strong enough to power a turn but it needs a strong enough skier to get it on edge, but the turn start and end are easy because of the light tips.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

I personally do not love the tip design on atomics, they chatter too much for me but most people would not notice this and it shouldnt take away from the rest of the ski that is easy and fun to ski.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

Like your ex-boyfriend who refused to do the dishes, the Maven required an aggressive stance to give it direction. She was stiff and less playful. On the more predictable snow, she hummed with some speed and aggressively on edge. Would probably love a softer snow day. Her top sheet was as dark and foreboding as an oncoming migraine.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This ski would be best for predictable groomers or some slushier days.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Best for an advanced, expert skier who can drive the ski and not let it drive them.

The Maven 88 CTI skied true to size. I would get a longer ski for my everyday skiing, but these skis are still fun at this length.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

Once I got used to these skis they were so much fun. They felt like I could do most things with these skis.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

These skis are a ture all mountain ski, you can rip on groomers in the morning, bash through moguls or trees in the afternoon. They respond well to anything that is underneath them and are more forgiving once you are on uneven terrain.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This is a great ski for intermediate and above skiers. The forgivingness of this ski allows the user to make it there own, no matter if they are just leaving to get the ski over on edge or if they have grew up ski racing.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

This ski was amazing to play on once I got use to the ski. It loved to make everything from small slalom turns, big open turns and even poping off cat tracks and skiing through the crud. Great ski for New England.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

Arguably not the day for the Maven but I still love it!! It really inspired me to change up my normally aggressive carving turn to some more playful skiing. I know the scooped sort of tip can maybe cause some chattering but today was ICY and I really didn’t notice that!

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

It’s a great, gentle, all mountain ski.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Gosh, I kinda imagine all levels could enjoy this ski but admittedly I struggle with this question.

The ski loved a long, aggressive turn. It held up well under various speeds and could handle some pressure. It hugged the mountain nicely when caving and felt stable underfoot.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This ski held up well with hardpack and ice, it held its edge really nicely.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

These felt approachable for intermediate skiers, probably stable enough for someone learning still and room to grow into more aggressive skiing. The loves the blue runs and wide turns.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

This ski was reliable, fun, and overall a great ride. It hugged the mountain on wide turns and there was nice flow connecting turns. A great everyday ski!

The length had a part in my impression, but they were slower to turn than expected. They carved nicely once up to speed, but not as buttery as I wanted.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

I think they are good for open groomers where you can really get into your turns.

These seem like a good stable ski for moderate to moderate advanced skiers who want a strong ski to move around the resort.

They were good and fast and cut through the variable conditions of the ice patches and corn.

These were perfect for the conditions, held up on the ice and were fun, with quick short, heavy, turning.

Hard pack and firm, they hold up. They’d probably be great in packed powder too.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I think intermediate skiers that want to move up to the next ski would like these. They’re a sturdy ski but accessible.

These were super fun to ski quick short turns but when I laid into deep carving turns they got a little squirrely and scary, so I eased up a bit and they were fine.
