DESCRIPTION

The Soul 102 W is a playful and well-balanced all-mountain ski built to blend freeride capability with everyday versatility. It pairs a 102 mm waist with a more centered feel that encourages creativity across the mountain while maintaining enough backbone for soft snow and mixed conditions. This is a modern directional twin that feels equally at home exploring off-trail terrain and carving back to the lift.

Why we like it:

It delivers a lively, responsive feel that stays composed when speeds pick up. We like how easily it pivots in tighter spaces, yet still holds a confident edge when tipped over on firmer snow. The personality is adaptable and energetic, which makes it a fun partner when conditions change throughout the day.

Who it's for:

The Soul 102 suits advanced skiers who appreciate a balanced, playful ride without giving up versatility. It works well for those who move between groomers, bumps, and off-trail terrain in a single lap and want one ski that can keep up with that range.

Highlights:

A 102 mm waist offers meaningful soft-snow support while remaining quick enough edge to edge for daily trail use. The moderate 17 meter turn radius keeps turn shapes intuitive and adaptable, whether you are linking shorter turns or opening things up. Rocker in the tip and tail helps the ski release and pivot easily while adding float in softer snow, and traditional camber underfoot maintains edge grip and builds energy through the center of the turn. Titanal reinforcement underfoot adds bite and composure where you need it most, giving the ski stability through the middle without making it feel overly damp or demanding.

Things to consider:

Because the metal is concentrated underfoot rather than running full length, the Soul 102 is not the most damp or planted option at very high speeds. Skiers who prioritize maximum stability for straight-lining or aggressive charging in firm conditions may prefer a heavier, more directional platform.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Soul 102 skis true to length and maintains a balanced feel throughout the turn. Skiers who want a playful, maneuverable ride can confidently choose their usual size, while those looking for added stability and top-end composure may consider sizing up slightly.

Relaxed these days! I ski a lot with my kiddo and tend to be more mellow than when I was younger, with fewer adventures off trail. I also ski alone a lot so am reluctant to adventure much alone.

Stowe groomers with a little bit of fresh snow on top. Stayed out of the bumps.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
This was a great length for me. I found it skied true to size; felt quick and fairly turny, and the stability at speed was about what I would expect for a ski of this length with this construction (a bit chattery at higher speeds but not enough to bother me).

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
I enjoyed these a lot, they suited my style of skiing and were super fun. They felt fairly grippy on firm snow for how wide they are, and especially for a ski with no metal beyond what's underfoot. The softer tips were easy to engage and the tails were supportive, giving a nice boost out of the turn when pressured.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
The Soul 102 is definitely made for a variety of conditions; soft and easy to bend, but not too soft. I found the skis had no problem cutting right through some piles of variable snow and didn't deflect like I thought they might. They did give a lot of feedback through chunky ice cookies, but tracked well regardless of that chatter. Based on all this, they'd make a great wider directional all-mountain ski for someone looking for versatility with an emphasis on soft snow performance.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This ski will appeal to a broad variety of skiers and skillsets. Advancing intermediates could get on this and have a blast, it's friendly and pretty forgiving for those who are still progressing and want a ski to broaden their horizons and give them the confidence to get off the groomers a bit more. Though I don't personally ski super fast, I do suspect advanced skiers who like to mach down firm groomers will find the top end of this ski pretty quick, but it's really not meant to be a groomer ski so if that's what you're looking for, this is not the ski for you.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
I really like the cosmetic on this ski, it's a nice looking topsheet with a subtle graphic that's pretty understated.
