It was 162 or 163 and was just right, a bit longer could be fun as well, it skied as expected.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I LOVE this ski. It may not be as confidence inspiring on a steep, icy, groomer as some others but it’s good enough and just rips through crud. Is playful enough for bumps, easy enough for trees, an ideal one ski quiver ski for the north east.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

All mountain.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to expert.

Very mixed terrain on Tyro. The snow was very firm underneath but soft on top.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

On less than ideal snow conditions, these get the job done. I felt strong and stable the whole time. I felt like the weight of them was able to push through the crud and make quick change ups in the mixed terrain.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

These feel like a great east cost daily driver. They love the groomers but can hold up to chop and crud.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

They feel appropriate for a strong intermediate skier and above.

Same as last year, these are a solid ski!

Felt stable solid and smooth in the turn initiation.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Good defense to New England crap. Just because it’s dampening feature helps prevent skis getting caught on chunks, and other obstacles.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I think level 2 and above women of all ages can make this ski work

Although the ski was too short for me, I definitely felt its stability.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

My first impression of the Stöckli Nela 93s was how solid and confidence-inspiring they felt. It immediately stood out as a more planted, substantial ski. Very comfortable at high speeds.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

The Nela 93’s excel on groomers and firm conditions, with enough versatility to handle mixed terrain.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

The Nela 93's are built for an advanced skier. They are a strong, performance-oriented ski that favors an aggressive, technically sound skier who wants stability and precision.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

I, really, really loved this ski. It felt solid and substantial underfoot, with the kind of weight and damping that I personally prefer. It was especially enjoyable to carve on—very smooth, stable, and confidence-inspiring through the turn. Compared to some lighter skis I tried, this felt much more planted and composed, particularly in firmer conditions. It rewards an active, forward stance and delivers a strong, precise feel on edge. Overall, this was one of my favorites and a great match for my skiing style.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I absolutely fell in love with these skis. They are fast and fun but also playful and forgiving enough that I felt comfortable taking them into the glades.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

I would spend most of my time on groomers with these due to their stiffness. I was expecting a bigger difference in feel compared to the Nela 86s but I felt they performed very similarly on groomers (nothing short of excellent). The biggest difference in feel from the Nela 86s is that I had the confidence to go into the glades with the Nela 93s which I definitely wouldn't do on the former. They were okay in the glades but I would definitely prefer something a little more playful and forgiving personally. Unfortunately, on the day I tested, there weren't many powder pockets to test these out on but they did seem to float pretty well in the few pockets I found.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

These skis are best suited for advanced to expert skiers due to their stiffness. Intermediate/beginners would most likely do better with a more playful and forgiving ski.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

I took these skis down three runs and absolutely fell in love. I am buying these skis. They were fast and stable on the groomers but playful enough that I had the courage to take them into the glades. It's probably the most fun ski I've ever been on.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

First impression, I like the 86 better for my daily ski. The Nela 93 is smooth and stable at speeds, light enough to easily turn but the wider width make it a little burlier. I found the tips to catch more at this width and was not as confident in my quick turns. Opening up my turns this ski was super stable and fun.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Mainly a resort ski with occasional trips into the side country, able turn easily in trees and bumps but it really wants to make bigger turns on open slopes.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

The Nela 93 is geared towards a more advanced skiers, while I think the Nela 86 has a wider range of ski abilities. The 93 is a bit beefer and stronger of a ski so it requires some input into the turn to really drive the ski around the turn.
